We are looking for an organised and proactive BIM Coordinator to join the team at our Bedford Head Office. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth management of project information from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
Reporting to our Digital Information Manager, you will be responsible for; maintaining, validating, and authoring BIM models, checking project information follows established protocols, and support delivery teams to achieve the digital aims of our construction clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Recognise the Lead Appointed Party’s role under ISO 19650 and understand client Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and Asset Information Requirements (AIR).
- Follow a BIM Execution Plan (BEP) to achieve digital deliverables.
- Adhere to SDCs Information Management standard methods and procedures.
- Manage the in-house Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Create, federate, and coordinate Building Information Models using Autodesk software.
- Create project drawings and documentation using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Generate project assets as Revit Families.
- Support project delivery teams by checking designs for buildability and compliance throughout RIBA Stages 3-6.
- Use Navisworks Manage to produce clash reports.
- Spot-check site installation to confirm design model accuracy.
- Create model completeness reports for handover.
- Validate and compile asset metadata, such as COBie.
- Assist the Digital Information Manager across all BIM functions.
About You
You’ll be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast-paced project environment.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Previous experience as a BIM technician within the construction industry.
- Understanding of BIM standards, including ISO 19650.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and graphical) and the confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
- Experience using CAD packages in the Autodesk AEC Suite of software; Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD, and ReCap.
- Experience using Trimble SketchUp.
- Experience in understanding and executing project workflows set out within a BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
- Knowledge of wider industry best-practice in Information Management, such as through relevant CPD, prior learning, or by following NIMA.
Qualifications
- 3x A Level / AS Levels Grade C or above, STEM subjects preferred. All Level 3 equivalent qualifications in STEM or construction-related fields are considered.
- All Level 3 – 4 (HNC/HND) qualifications in a STEM or construction-related field are desirable.
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
