The latest project to break ground on Granta Park is a new 120,000 sq ft office and laboratory facility.

One Granta, also known as Project Ghiberti, is a gateway life science building located on a prominent pitch at the entrance to the campus. The scheme is being developed by BioMed Realty, a leading developer of real estate solutions to the life sciences community. BioMed Realty has a global portfolio of approximately 13.5 million sq ft, including Granta Park, one of Cambridge’s most recognised locations for science and technology companies.

The structure, which comprises post tensioned concrete slabs and a steel frame to the roof, will support the building's curtain walling system and rainscreen cladding panels. The third floor will feature a communal roof terrace boasting outstanding views over Granta Park’s central green and beautiful countryside surroundings. Internally, a central core and timber-lined shared reception area allow the highly efficient and flexible design to accommodate a single or double tenancy per floor. The scheme has also been designed to be highly sustainable, targeting reduced CO2 emissions and well respected sustainability credentials – BREEAM Excellent and WELL Gold.

This addition to Granta Park will provide modern, fit-for-purpose, highly sustainable office and laboratory accommodation to help address the growing demand from developing businesses. SDC commenced work on the scheme in May 2023, with project completion scheduled for Q3 2024.
