Project Atria won the CFCI Award for ‘Best New Building over £2m’.
New Heart and Lung Research Institute situated on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, adjacent to the new Royal Papworth Hospital.
Contains 8,000 sq.m of research space, and provides a 10-bed clinical research facility and Education Suite, along with state-of-the-art wet and dry laboratory space.
Linked to the Royal Papworth Hospital via a basement tunnel.
Constructed using an in-situ concrete frame clad with a mixture of anodised bronze rain screen cladding panels and curtain walling.
Includes PV panels, an atrium green roof, and naturally ventilated dry research spaces.
