New Laboratory and Office Space for Abingdon Science Park

SDC has commenced work on Barton House for Kadans Science Partner. Located on the Abingdon Science Park, this project will provide a new purpose-built laboratory and office building. The development can accommodate multiple tenants across the two floors and boasts communal areas and café space to encourage collaboration.

Flexibility was also a key driver in the design of the building, thus the structural grids, floor loadings, servicing, and ceiling heights have been considered to provide highly adaptable space in the long-term. The design of the building also increases open space and light, factors which are fundamental to modern working environments and talent retention.

SDC’s work consists of pilling, groundworks, steel frame, façade, CAT A fit-out, and landscaping. The scheme commenced on site in Summer 2022 and is due to finish next year.
