Bidwells Bike Ride 2019
On Thursday 5th September, eight riders from SDC embarked on the Bidwells Golden Triangle Bike Ride. SDC sponsored the event along with COEL, Redrow and Vectos.
Clients, colleagues and event sponsors rode 180km (112 miles) from Oxford to Cambridge via Flitwick to celebrate Bidwells’ 180th anniversary. A shorter course was also undertaken by some riders, starting from Flitwick and ending 50 miles later in Cambridge.
The annual bike ride, now in its fourth year, raises money for cancer support charity, Maggie’s Centres. This year, over forty-five thousand pounds has been raised through the bike ride and other fundraising means by the Bidwells team and sponsors.
In early August, SDC also assisted with Bidwells’ #ByAnyMeans challenge by providing plant and machinery, helping them travel from Oxford to Cambridge on over 40 different modes of transport – also raising money for Maggie’s Centres.
