SDC has handed over 25,600 sq ft of laboratory and office space on the Abingdon Science Park. Situated to the rear of The Quadrant, Barton House provides purpose-built accommodation to further future-proof the cluster of science and technology businesses established within the park.

The steel-framed structure incorporates sustainable elements such as a rooftop plant room and a striking green wall, contributing to its BREEAM Excellent rating. Additionally, the inclusion of EV charging points aligns with its commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Designed with flexibility in mind, Barton House can accommodate up to four tenants across its two floors. Internally, the facility is finished to CAT A standards, providing tenants with adaptable spaces to customise according to their needs.

Bespoke laboratory ventilation systems and adaptable laboratory risers ensure resilience, safety, and comfort for all occupants. Moreover, the communal café and abundant open spaces foster a collaborative and engaging work environment, promoting talent retention within the cluster.

Work involved pilling, groundworks, steel frame, façade, CAT A fit-out, and landscaping, with an overall programme period of 65 weeks.
