SDC is a main contractor that undertakes projects across a variety of construction sectors, including Research and Development, Commercial, Manufacturing, Automotive, Healthcare, and Education. Operating across such a diverse spectrum of sectors has enabled SDC to move with – and adapt to – changing market trends, which has resulted in controlled growth for the business.

Sustained growth is aided by the fact that a large proportion of SDC’s work is awarded on a repeat order basis from an extensive and ever-growing base of blue-chip clients.

Ever since the company was established in 1972, collaboration and teamwork has been at the heart of the SDC philosophy and represents one of the major factors that has contributed to the overall success of the business. This overriding philosophy, coupled with a reputation for problem solving, risk management, delivering on promises and offering best value, is a hallmark of SDC’s culture.

What is most unique about SDC, however, is that the group of companies operate under the umbrella of an Employee Benefit Trust (EBT) – the first of its kind in the British construction industry. This means instead of being owned by shareholders, the future of our company is protected by a Board of Trustees who are responsible for safeguarding the long-term prosperity of SDC and sharing any profit amongst members of staff and the wider community.
