SDC Built Care Home Gets Royal Seal of Approval

Royal Visit for Bedford Care Home
On 17th January Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex gave the royal seal of approval to Anjulita Court in Brickhill, Bedford, the SDC design and build state-of-the-art care home for local older people with dementia and nursing needs.
The Countess saw for herself the impressive facility which has the feel of an exclusive hotel rather than a care home and contains facilities including a sensory room, hydrotherapy room, hairdressing salon, and a lounge which converts to a cinema. The care home was built in partnership with The Ibbett Trust, a local Bedfordshire trust and MHA (Methodist Homes for the Aged), a national charity.
After unveiling the official plaques Her Royal Highness addressed the audience and said what had particularly impressed her as she toured the building were the many positive comments made by residents and their families about those who work at the home. The Countess went on to thank all the staff saying, "It is you who makes the difference."
Clifton Ibbett, Chairman of the Ibbett Trust said, "The day has gone fantastically well. The Countess has charmed everyone she met today and was even willing to share the contents of her handbag with one curious resident! I am very pleased that she acknowledged the great work staff and volunteers do - that is truly what makes these care homes special."
