SDC Special Projects Division Marks the Start of New School Hall
Date published: 23 June 2010
Groundbreaking at Cranford Church of England Primary School
SDC were proud to mark the start of the construction works for
the new School Hall at Cranford Church of England Primary School on
Friday 18th June with a groundbreaking ceremony.
The Ceremony was performed by Sir Peter Fry of the Local Parish
Council and Phil James who is Chair of Governors.
The new school hall will replace a temporary hall with a
permanent building. As well as being used for assemblies the hall
will be used as a dining area and for PE activities by the
students. The new building will include a large class room and a
small kitchenette which will enable the school to provide hot
school meals for the students and implement their Food Tech
curriculum where students can learn basic cookery skills.
The new hall will be fitted out with new stage lighting and audio
visual equipment which will enhance the schools ability for
theatrical productions.
The construction works will commence on the 21st June 2010 with
completion in mid/late November 2010.
This is one of three similar projects secured by Special Projects under the same contract. The other projects are being undertaken at Titchmarsh Primary School and Maidwell Primary School.
