SDC Builders Secures Two New Projects
Date published: 15 March 2007
Double Success for SDC
SDC Builders Ltd have recently secured two highly prestigious projects, culminating in a highly successful year for the company.
Castle Lane in the centre of Bedford is being undertaken for Complex Development Projects (CDP) and comprises of a mixed use development of retail, restaurants and residential units in the most historic area of the town. In addition, the scheme will feature a new archaeological park and the restoration of the medieval kiln which will be showcased under a glass floor within one of the buildings. Work is scheduled to start on site in March 2007 with completion by July 2008.
The second project, in the heart of Bletchley, comprises of a
new Leisure Centre with a 25m swimming pool, sauna, steam room,
sports hall, multi use hall, gym, aerobic room, spinning studio, 4
squash courts, indoor bowls, function suite, cafe and integral
multi storey car park. There will also be up to 300 mixed tenure
new homes as part of the overall scheme. In addition, Princes Way
will be narrowed to make it a pedestrian friendly street and a new
plaza will be created between Elizabeth Square and the Leisure
Centre entrance. This significant project, providing a much needed
regeneration boost to the centre of Bletchley is being undertaken
for, and in partnership with, Milton Keynes Council. The existing
Bletchley Leisure Centre will continue to operate until the new
Leisure Centre is constructed. Work is scheduled to start on site
in November 2007 with completion due in March 2010.
