Christ's Lane Ground Breaking Ceremon

Christ's Lane to take Shape
Work is getting underway on replacing Bradwell's Court Shopping Centre in the heart of Cambridge.
A ground-breaking ceremony was held on the site, prior to demolition of the old shops. Construction of the new centre, to be called Christ's Lane, will begin soon.
Attending the ceremony were Peter Cleary, head of retail development at Land Securities, the company hehind the scheme, Francis Shiner, Managing Director of SDC, and the Senior Bursars of the two Cambridge Colleges which own the land involved; Stephen Barton of Jesus and Dr Michael Halstead of Christ's.
The new centre will include apartments and public space.
Shop space has already been let to fashion retailers Zara, H&M and Bank and the restaurant group Giraffe is opening one of its first out-of-London off-shoots there.
