The refurbishment of a listed five storey office building for the Open University.
The project was procured on a two-stage tender, with SDC providing the architectural design in close liaison with the Client's end users.
The extensive refurbishment included the strip-out and replacement of mechanical and electrical services, remodelling of the layout to provide an open plan environment, a new reception area, cafe and meeting rooms.
The project included the restoration of the external facade and front entrance.
The works also comprised extensive improvements to comply with the DDA regulations including provision of accessible WCs, upgrading of the front entrance and rear car park, and the upgrading of the lift cars.
The project was completed in 26 weeks
