Pupils at Huncote Community Primary School swapped exercise books and pencils for hard hats and safety goggles when building industry mascot Ivor Goodsite paid a visit to their morning assembly. He was joined by April Knapp, Regional Development Manager of East Midlands Housing Association, who has started the £7 million redevelopment of Duncan Avenue, next to the village school to make way for 49 new houses and flats.
SDC were pleased to be part of this constructive event as Ivor
and April talked about the dangers of building sites and told the
children they were not safe places to play. Pupils, aged
between four and 11, then had the chance to try on hard hats,
safety goggles and high visibility jackets.
