On Friday 1st February 2008 SDC were invited to exhibit for the Women into Construction Day at the John Bunyan Centre, Bedford. A team of willing surveyors, designers and planners from SDC erected a stand to illustrate what opportunities there are available in the construction industry for women.
Hundreds of young women were invited to try their hand at bricklaying, plumbing, electrics and even had the chance of a quick mini digger driving lesson!
The day hopefully inspired a few to think outside the box and look at different, unconventional career opportunities within their reach (and in the area). Training and development are essential to our business growth and we hope our involvement has sparked an interest in some of the visitors.
It was a great day and we hope to have a positive and bright future, for all.
