SDC is fully committed to implementing procedures that promotes
the use and integration of sustainable practices, which meets the
needs of the present without compromising the ability of future
generations to meet their own needs.
SDC seeks to integrate sustainability as part of its activities
through:
- The encouragement of clients to consider environmentally
sustainable designs
- Making sustainability integral to the design & delivery
process
- Promoting the use of contracts that support collaborative
working
- Whole life costing
- Generating minimum waste on all of our sites and within our
offices
- The promotion of re-cycling and re-use of materials in all
environments
- Staff awareness training
- The promotion of the objectives of sustainability within the
supply chain
- Using techniques and materials that assist in the drive towards
sustainability and which leave as small an environmental imprint as
possible
- Continual monitoring and review processes in respect of our
environmental impact and the embedment of project lessons
Sustainability is not about one-off projects it is about the
embodiment of an approach which is integral to the company's
philosophy and as such we are working hard to demonstrate the
benefits of becoming more sustainable in the way we work and in the
construction and services we deliver.
