We place the greatest emphasis on Health & Safety, with the whole management board and employees fully committed to creating and supporting a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace, utilising company systems and procedures accredited to OHSAS 18001.

We recognise that the Health & Safety statistics within the construction industry are less than favourable and that we as an organisation must continually challenge our approach by working proactively in all our undertakings to promote, enhance, improve and implement safe working practices to reduce to an absolute minimum the associated risks with our activities.

Our own Health & Safety record is better than industry norms, however we must strive to improve and are committed to a programme of such improvement. As part of this programme we have established a positive working relationship with the Health & Safety Executive, working with them on various forums and working groups to promote safety within the industry.

We firmly believe that success as a business runs in parallel with safe operating procedures and working environments and this is at the heart of the SDC ethos.
